TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE USE OF EPINS® SERVICE

  • EPINS® is a service provided by Card Alliance Pte Ltd for the clearing of PIN-based debit transactions at participating retail establishments ("Merchant").
  • Cards issued by your Participating Bank ("Bank") may be used to purchase goods and services at Merchants.
  • Merchants can be identified by the display of the EPINS® logo at respective Electronic Data Capture devices (EDC) and/or Point of Sale devices (POS).
IMPORTANT – Your PIN is very important and at no time should you disclose or reveal your PIN to anyone. You may incur risk and liability in the event that you fail to observe this security requirement.

USAGE

Each Transaction is deemed authorised and completed once the terminal generates a confirmation message and approval slip. The confirmation message and approval slip will be printed each time the Card is used and you should ensure that there is no multiple usage of the Card at the Merchant location at the time of the purchase.

The use of your card together with the PIN at participating Merchants shall constitute your express consent to the following:

  • Any surcharge levied by the Merchant in association with the use of the EPINS® service;
  • The immediate deduction of the transacted amount from your account with the Bank; and
  • The collection, retention, storage, communication and processing of your account information necessary to complete and record the transaction by the Bank or Card Alliance Pte Ltd.

EXCLUSION FROM LIABILITY

Without prejudice to the foregoing, you hereby agree that the Bank and Card Alliance Pte Ltd shall be under no liability whatsoever to you in respect of any loss or damage arising directly or indirectly including out of:-

  • Any defect in goods or services availed of by you by the Merchant;
  • The refusal or inability (whether technical or otherwise) of the Merchant to honour or accept your Card;
  • Your divulgence of your PIN to any third party;
  • Your failure to retain your Card, or the handing over of your card to anybody other then an authorised employee of the Merchant.

DISPUTES

Records maintained by the Bank and Card Alliance Pte Ltd shall be conclusive proof that the transaction was properly incurred at the Merchant by you.

Any dispute pertaining to the amount charged or the goods and services provided by the Merchant shall strictly be between you and the Merchant. Card Alliance Pte Ltd is not in any manner responsible for any issues regarding goods and services received by you including the quality, value warranty, delay of delivery, non delivery, non receipt of any goods or services.


REFUNDS

Please note that refunds cannot be processed through the EPINS® service and in the event of a refund, Card Alliance Pte Ltd shall not in any manner be responsible for the form or manner of the refund which shall at all times be between you and the Merchant.
